Super Sammy Southall
This special area is dedicated to Super Sammy Southall, who, after a long battle with cancer, passed away on July 7, 2019, at the age of 12.
Sammy loved his family and friends, drawing, Pokémon, eating ice cream, and building with LEGOs. His creative spirit and love for building continues to inspire everyone who enters this space.

The Main Event
LEGO Pinewood Derby
Build your own LEGO race car and compete on our official Pinewood Derby track! Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Build fast, race faster.
Exact derby time and any rule updates are confirmed closer to the con — check the schedule.
Rules Car Building
- Use provided pieces only — no bringing cars from home
- Size limit: 6 studs wide × 20 studs long × 6 bricks tall
- Must fit within the official size box
Clock Time Limits
- Build time: 30 minutes to construct your car
- Race time: 1 hour for all race runs
- Be ready when your time is called!
Format Racing
- Time trial format — fastest time wins
- Each contestant gets up to 6 runs
- Race down each lane twice
- Lane referees will record your times
Scoring How You Win
- Your fastest time counts for final scoring
- Times recorded on official score sheets
- Winners determined by fastest overall times
